New Network Board Members Bring New Ideas
3 new board members were appointed at the Cumbria Farmer Network AGM. Giving a healthy balance of youth and experience to the 10 strong elected Board. Paul Renison from Patterdale, Duncan Maughan from Cumrew and Michael Wilson from Whitbeck, Millom were newly appointed as directors to represent Eden, Carlisle and Copeland respectively.
“We are really pleased to get some new blood onto the Board, particularly from people with new ideas and who are well connected in the farming community”, said chairman Will Rawling. “We are moving into an important period over the next four years with our involvement in the new NWDA Livestock Programme, which we plan to be led by farmers and our Directors will have a key role in how this is delivered.”
Will Rawling also mentioned the Network is offering help to set up more sites to collect sheep carcases over the lambing period, so that sheep get collected once or twice a week, with savings on costs. Anyone interested to contact CFN urgently (01768 868615).
